Eine systematische Recherche in den Datenbanken ISI Web of Knowledge, Pubmed, Scopus und Cochrane Library nach dem Einsatz neuer Antikoagulanzien (Dabigatran, Rivaroxaban und
Apixaban) als Alternativen zu Warfarin und Acenocumarol im Zusammenhang mit Zahnbehandlungen ergab, dass die Verwendung von Apixaban kontinuierlich ansteigt. Für den Zahnarzt ist es wichtig, profunde Kenntnisse zu den Wirkmechanismen und den Grundsätzen bei zahnärztlicher Behandlung von Patienten unter Therapie mit den neuen Antikoagulanzien zu besitzen. Die vorliegende Publikation enthält einen klinischen Leitfaden zur Behandlung solcher Patienten.
